Dear families,
To continue to support our schools, students, staff and families, York Region District School Board is pleased to be able to facilitate in partnership with York Region Public Health and the Ministry of Education, voluntary targeted COVID-19 testing. In addition to daily screening, masking and the other health and safety measures, targeted testing (asymptomatic with no known exposure to COVID-19) in schools is an important layer of protection that helps to limit the spread of COVID-19.
There is additional symptomatic and asymptomatic testing available at multiple vacant Board sites as outlined in this memo from Public Health.
Targeted testing will help ensure that our schools remain a safe environment for all to learn and work in.

Collection methods for testing will include shallow nasal swabs. Consent will be required from parents or guardians of students under 18 years old. Please take note of the following:
When you arrive at the testing location at the school, please make sure to be wearing a mask and have your child's health card.
We wish to clarify that there is no option for pre-registration at this time, although you are asked to complete and bring your paper registration and assessment form (please remember to bring your health cards and a parent/guardian must accompany children under 18).

Please be advised, schools do not have assigned times this week and persons wishing to be tested may attend whenever the clinic is open (times listed above).
The school and the board will communicate with parents, guardians and staff should the need for future targeted testing dates arise.
